Description
The tree in the story could be an aspen, a beech or a birch. All these trees make a wonderfully soothing rustle. If you do not have any of these trees handy nearby, simply change the story slightly to bring in a different gentle noise that you can hear. This is a good way to encourage your child(ren) to focus on the sounds around them.
This story is also suitable for telling to a child who is unable to spend time outdoors in nature (for example, because they are in hospital). For these children, you could add in some props and objects to create a sensory story.
