About us
At My Kind of Book we believe that everyone can enjoy a good story.
We are particularly interested in ensuring that children with complex additional needs, including PMLD (profound and multiple learning disabilities) have books and sensory stories to enjoy.
My Kind of Book was founded by Ailie Finlay in 2020.
Ailie had been working as a storyteller and sensory story developer with people with additional needs for many years. It was through this work that she became aware that children with more complex needs do not have the same access to fun and engaging picture books as their peers.
How we are set up
My Kind of Book is a not-for-profit community interest company with all profits being re-invested in the company for pioneering research and to create beautiful innovative books.
The company is run by Ailie Finlay (pictured) and a board of directors.
